Atlanta Open Tennis 2012

The 2012 Atlanta Open is one of 41 ATP Tour 250 category tournaments and one of 12 tournaments held in the USA each year. The official name of Atlanta due to title sponsorship naming rights is the BB&T Atlanta Open.

The 2012 tournament is being held at the Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA. The court surface is hard and the centre court seating capacity is 5,000. The Atlanta men’s tournament was first held in 2010 and is being run for the 3rd consecutive year.

This tournament runs from Saturday 14 July to Sunday 22 July. The qualifying singles event was held on Saturday through to Monday 14 to 16 July. The main draw singles event runs from Monday 16 July through to the Men’s Singles Finals day on Sunday 22 July. 

The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.1 seed Mardy FISH who defeated the No.3 seed John ISNER an an all-American final 3-6, 7-6(8-6), 6-2 to win his sixth ATP singles title and back-to-back Atlanta titles.
