The 2012 Dusseldorf World Team Cup is the second most prestigious men’s team tennis competition between nations each year. The eight countries whose Top 2 players achieved the highest combined ATP rankings at the end of the previous year are invited to be the 8 teams that compete for the cup each year. All reports are that this year has the strongest field of nations competing for a number of years.

The official name of Dusseldorf is the Power Horse World Team Cup and it begins in the same week that Roland Garros begins, yet ends the day before the 1st round of the main draw at Roland Garros commences.

The 2011 champions were GERMANY who defeated defending champions ARGENTINA in the final with Florian Mayer, Philipp Kohlschriber and Philipp Petzschner representing Germany to win a record-breaking 5th World Team Cup title by any one country.
