The 2012 tournament is being held at the Crédit Agricole Arena in Gstaad, Switzerland after first being played in 1915. The court surface is clay and the centre court seating capacity is 4,500.
This tournament runs from Saturday 14 July to Sunday 22 July. The qualifying singles event was held on Saturday and Sunday 14-15 July. The main draw singles event runs from Monday 16 July through to the Men’s Singles Finals day on Sunday 22 July.
The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.8 seed Marcel GRANOLLERS who defeated the No.4 seed Fernando VERDASCO in an all-Spanish final 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to win his second ATP singles title and first at Gstaad after being the runner-up in 2010.
