Stuttgart Open 2012 Men’s Tennis

The 2012 Stuttgart Open is one of 41 ATP Tour 250 category tournaments and one of twelve tournaments held in Germany each year. The official name of Stuttgart due to title sponsorship naming rights is the Mercedes Cup. In addition, to the usual prize money the singles winner takes home a Mercedes Benz, last year it was the SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY Roadster.

The 2012 tournament is being held at Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart, Germany. The court surface is clay and the centre court seating capacity is 5,000. The Stuttgart men’s tournament was first held in 1886.

This tournament runs from Saturday 7 July to Sunday 15 July. The qualifying singles event was held on Saturday through to Monday 7 to 9 July. The main draw singles event runs from Monday 9 July through to the Men’s Singles Finals day on Sunday 15 July. 

The 2011 men’s singles champion was the unseeded Juan Carlos FERRERO who defeated the unseeded Pablo ANDUJAR in the final 6-4 6-0 to win his 16th ATP singles title and first Stuttgart title.
