Kevin AndersonThe 2013 Australian Open singles events begins with 128 players in the singles main draw of which 32 are seeded. In this post OnCourt Advantage provides a round-by-round list to make it easier for you to see how the seeds path to the rounds they are seeded to win through to after a readers request, enjoy!

The players in the list below whose names are bolded are the seeds who are seeded to win through that round. Once each round is completed the updated draw will be added above the previous round e.g. once the 3rd round matches are completed I will add the 4th round draw above the 3rd round draw that is already listed below.

In the 3rd round eight of the 16 matches pitted the seeds against each other as both players successfully won through the first two rounds against unseeded players. In the other eight 3rd round match ups seven unseeded players and one qualifier [Q], upset the seed in that section of the draw.

Pictured above is Kevin ANDERSON just after making contact with this double-handed backhand demonstrating beautiful execution and focus on the hitting position. The 26-year-old South African upset 2009 Australian Open semi finalist and No.22 seed Fernando Verdasco to achieve his best Grand Slam singles result to date by making the 4th round.

Anderson is set to achieve a new career best ranking, which is No.28 thus far. The 2.03m Sydney International runner-up is the current World No.31 narrowly missed out on being seeded. In the 4th round Anderson has a rematch with No.5 seed Tomas Berdych who won their encounter at the 2012 Australian Open in the 3rd round. These two then played in the 3rd round again at Roland Garros in 2012 with Berdych coming back after Anderson lead by two sets to one. The two played all four times in 2012 with Anderson showing in the final two meetings a win against Berdych is on it’s way.
