Roland Garros 2012 Results: Men

The 2012 Roland Garros championships are being played for the 111th time this year since first being playing in 1891. In this post the match results for each day will be continually added to this page throughout the entire tournament, to make it easier for you to know who is progressing through the draw and what the final scores were.

There have been three unseeded men who have won the singles title in the past 30 years: Mats WILANDER in 1982, Gustavo KUERTEN in 1997 and Gaston GAUDIO in 2004. Last year was only the fourth time in the Open-era (i.e. since 1968), that the Top 4 seeds all lived up to their seeding by winning through to the semi finals. The best performance by a qualifier in the Open-era was by Filip DEWULF who won through to the semi finals in 1997. The best performance by a wild card was Henri LECONTE then ranked No.200 in 1985 when he made the semi finals.

Please leave a comment below this article regarding anything YOU would like to know about in tennis, have explained or suggest for me to write about here at OnCourt AdvantageTo watch the tennis in Singapore you need to add 6 hours to the local time in Paris to work out the equivalent Singapore time for this-> daily 2012 Roland Garros Open Order of Play.

In the lists of results each day that will be featured below, all players except for the direct acceptances will have letters or a number in brackets in front of their names when they are a seeded player e.g. [1] for the No.1 seed, or a wild card entrant [WC] or a player who won through the qualifying tournament i.e. a qualifier [Q]. The letters in brackets after each pla9er’s name is the prefix for the country that player represents e.g. the local players have (FRA) added after their names because it is short for France.

The Roland Garros full 2012 Men’s Schedule of Play contains all of the details for how the prize money and ranking points are allocated to the players for each round throughout the tournament. The 2012 Roland Garros Men’s Singles Draw post contains many interesting details about how the draws work. The full list for the 201r 1st Round Men’s Singles Draw also includes who the seeds are, which seeds are drawn to play off against each other, plus who the wild cards and q5alifiers are and who they play in the 1st round.
