Serena Williams and Garbiñe Muguruza played the Championship match on Centre Court on Day 12 of The Championships. The 33-year-old Serena won 6/4, 6/4 in 1 hour and 23 minutes against the 21-year-old Muguruza, who is currently ranked 20.

The Wimbledon channel footage below shows No.1 seed Serena and 1st time finalist Muguruza in action, it includes some break points, the set point, championship point plus with their trophies. You can see the final match statistics in the picture at the end of this article.

The 1.75m Serena won by a break of serve in each set with better conversion of break point opportunities as well as having %20 less chances than the 1.82m Spaniard. Serena converted 5 of 8 break points, whilst Muguruza won 3 of 10 opportunities. The American served an uncharacteristic 8 double faults which points to the tension of the occasion despite her tremendous experience advantage, the relentless desire to dictate points and respect for the quality of opponent’s return of serve.

Serena won her 6th Wimbledon title from 8 finals at her 16th Wimbledon. Serena now has 21 Grand Slam titles one behind Steffi Graf and two behind Margaret Court on 24. The World No.1 has won the past four Slams and now has the opportunity at the 2015 US Open for her first calendar-year Grand Slam.
