The Cincinnati Open is held at the Linder Family Tennis Centre in Cincinnati, Ohio in the USA. This event was first held in 1899 for the men and the women’s tournament began in 2004. The court surface is Deco Turf II hard courts, the centre court seating capacity is 11,433.
This tournament runs from Saturday 11 August to Sunday 19 August. The singles qualifying event is being held on Saturday and Sunday August 11-12. The main draw singles event for the men begins on Sunday 12 August, whilst the women’s main draw commences on Monday 13 August and both the men’s and women’s Singles Finals are scheduled on Sunday 19 August.
The 2011 women’s singles champion was No.4 seed Maria SHARAPOVA who defeated 13th seeded Jelena JANKOVIC in the final 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. The 2011 men’s singles champion was No.4 seed Andy MURRAY who defeated No.1seed Novak DJOKOVIC in the final 6-4, 3-0 retired.
