The Indian Wells Open Men’s 1st round main draw singles matches began on Thursday 11 March local time at Indian Wells and are now completed. In the 2nd round all of the Top 32 seeds will be playing their first match against the winners of the 1st round matches.

There is a high chance that the usual one third to one quarter of the Top 32 ranked players will be defeated in the 2nd round. This is because every match each player has to show the quality of performance necessary to win a professional tennis match despite what they may have achieved in the past.

The following is the seeding and draw for the 2nd round matches. The number in brackets before a players name is their seeding. A “Q” in brackets before their name means that player is a Qualifier and “WC” means that player received a Wild Card into the tournament.

  • (1) Roger Federer versus Victor Hanescu
  • (27) Marcos Baghdatis versus Arnaud Clement
  • (18) Tommy Robredo versus Sergiy Stakhovsky
