The 2011 Madrid Open is the 5th MAJOR tournament of the “BIG 14″ in 2011 for the men’s professional tennis tour. Pictured above is the centre court at Madrid which is called “La Caja Mágica” i.e. The Magic Box. The venue for Madrid is known as the Manzanares Park Tennis Center in Madrid, Spain.
The Madrid Open event began in 2002 as an indoor hard court tournament. Since 2009 Madrid has been played on outdoor red clay courts and as the third of the four major clay court tournaments each year. This year for the first time Madrid is being held before the Rome Open Masters 1000 tournament.

The women’s 1st round of the main draw will commence on Saturday 30 April and the qualifying event begins on Friday 29 April. The Women’s Singles Final will be played on Saturday 7 May. The men’s 1st round of the main draw will commence on Sunday 1 May and the qualifying event begins on Saturday 30 April. The Men’s Singles Finals will be played on Sunday 8 May.
