The 2010 BNP Paribas Masters men’s main draw singles semi final matches have been completed. The Paris Open is now called the BNP Paribas Masters due to title sponsorship rights. The Men’s Singles Final is a rematch of last weeks Valencia Quarter Final and sets Robin Soderling and Gael Monfils to meet for the third time.

The 26 year old Soderling leads the 24 year old Monfils by 2 wins and has not lost to the French man in their previous matches. The 1.93m Soderling won their most recent encounter 6-3 6-2 in the week before the Paris Open at Valencia in Spain in the same conditions, indoors and on hard courts. Soderling saved 3 match points against Michael Llodra of France to record his first won in 3 matches against the crowd favourite.

The 1.93m Monfils is at his best in front of his home town crowd and plays inspired tennis making anything possible. In the second semi final all 3 sets where decided by a tie break. Federer held 5 matches points over Monfils and a perfect 5-0 career match record before losing for the first time in 2 hours and 41 minutes. Monfils won an indoor hard court singles title in France just 3 weeks ago at Montpellier.
